Diamond core bit segments are the functional parts of the core drill bit. The process of welding the core bit segments onto the barrel is called "retipping", which allows the barrel of the core drill bit to be reused. There are several advantages to retipping segments. First, it saves costs because you only need to purchase the segments rather than the entire core drill bit (which is heavy and expensive to ship). Second, it saves time; instead of waiting for a new diamond core drill bit to be manufactured and delivered, retipping offers a quick solution, minimizing downtime on the job site.

Xpert Diamond Tools offers two different types of concrete core bit segments: crown type and bar type. The crown type is used for small core drill bits (diameters from 14 to 50mm), while the bar type is used for larger core drill bits (diameters from 32mm to 500mm). After years of development, we have designed eight different types of bar type core bit segments: Normal, Turbo, Roof, Turbo + Roof, Turbo + Zigzag, Net + Roof, Aero, and Arix. Each provides different performance characteristics.

In order to make our segments more targeted, we classified the concrete into four types: standard concrete, lightly reinforced concrete, medium reinforced concrete, and heavily reinforced concrete. For drilling each type, we developed three different quality levels of our core bit segments: Grade A for heavily reinforced concrete, Grade B for medium reinforced concrete, and Grade C for standard concrete and lightly reinforced concrete.
