Description
Unlike other asphalt diamond blades, this 16-inch blade features a blank core with inclined slots and a ring of holes near the rim. It is thinner than standard asphalt blades, allowing for more precise cutting. The inclined slots help the blade withstand heavy cutting forces, enhancing its durability. Designed for wet cutting, the multiple holes improve water cooling efficiency.
This 400mm asphalt diamond blade is designed for cutting through asphalt surfaces, commonly used in road construction, maintenance, and repair projects. These blades are typically mounted on walk-behind saws or hand-held saws, and their primary application is in creating expansion joints, removing damaged asphalt sections, and cutting trenches for utility installation. Asphalt is a softer material compared to concrete, so these blades often feature a harder bond to withstand the abrasive nature of the asphalt and deliver a longer cutting life.
Drop segments
Asphalt diamond cutting blades typically feature drop segments and are laser welded for enhanced performance and durability. The drop segments are crucial in reducing friction and improving cooling during cutting, particularly as asphalt becomes sticky and heats up. This design ensures better performance, increased safety, and longer blade life, making it ideal for demanding asphalt cutting tasks.
Laser welding
Laser welding is used for asphalt cutting blades to form a strong, durable, and precise bond between the diamond segments and the steel core. This process improves the blade’s performance, safety, and longevity, enabling it to endure the high-stress and high-heat conditions of asphalt cutting.
Lifespan
The lifespan of an asphalt diamond blade is typically measured by its cutting depth and length. For instance, our 350mm asphalt blade with 10mm segment height can cut over 1000 meters of grooves at a 10cm depth. We offer three quality levels (diamond formulas) to meet the needs of customers in different regions. The diamond formulas can also be adjusted based on customer feedback after testing our asphalt diamond blades.
Packaging – 16 inch asphalt diamond blade
Packaging of Medium Size Diamond Saw Blade
The common diameter range of asphalt cutting blades typically spans from 300mm (12 inches) to 600mm (24 inches). Smaller blades, such as 300mm to 350mm (12-14 inches), are often used for handheld saws, while larger blades, like 500mm to 600mm (20-24 inches), are commonly used with walk-behind saws for cutting asphalt on roads and other large surfaces.
Due to the blade’s diameter, we typically pack the asphalt cutting blade in a white box, which is the second packaging method we use for concrete cutting blades. First, the diamond blades are shrink-wrapped in transparent plastic, and then the asphalt cutting blade is placed in a white box for added protection.
